Stewart Roberts is president of Tech Coast Angels’ Orange County and is a board member overseeing all five southern California chapters. Tech Coast Angels is the largest angel investment group in the country and more than one billion dollars have been invested in TCA-funded companies since 1997. So far in 2010, $19 million has been invested across 14 new and follow-on deals. Three portfolio companies exits, Green Dot’s IPO (NYSE: GDOT) yielding over 110 times return, SDL’s acquisition of Language Weaver for $42.5MM, and an IPO for Trius Therapeutics (NASDAQ: TSRX) all point to a dynamic year for TCA.

Stewart has served as CEO, board member, consultant and investor in and for multiple startups. In 2003 he co-founded TIX China a Shanghai based trading company overseeing a client portfolio spanning three continents. In the 1990s he worked on Wall Street where he held jobs at Brenner Securities and Morgan Stanley. In his spare time he and his wife are involved in CASA, as court appointed volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children.
